Air Jamaica donates computers to Lime Hall Primary School
AIR Jamaica last Wednesday presented five computers to the Lime Hall Primary School in St Ann as the airline continued its push to equip rural schools to take advantage of the computer age.
The computers were presented by the national carrier’s director of communication, Sandrea Falconer, to Lime Hall Primary’s principal, Windel Luke, who, in expressing gratitude for the donation, lauded the efforts of Air Jamaica and promised that the computers would be put to good use.
This is the third such donation being made by Air Jamaica since the computers arrived in the island courtesy of the Financial Group of Des Moines, Iowa, USA.
Fifteen computers have been distributed to schools across the island so far. The first two donations were made to Seaforth Primary in St Thomas and Troja Primary and Junior High School in St Catherine.
Leighton Walker, who manages Air Jamaica’s Information Technology Department, promised to help maintain the computers and to source educational software for the school.
Microsoft Jamaica provided the software which was installed by Air Jamaica’s IT Department, while Jamaica Broilers provided assistance to Air Jamaica in ensuring the success of this project.
