Woman’s body found with stab wounds at Ewarton home
THE body of a woman was found with stab wounds close to her home at Bryan Road in Ewarton, St Catherine on Sunday.
The police reported yesterday that the woman, Stacey-Ann Comrie, and her friends reportedly went to a wake in the community at about 2:00 am. At about 7:30 am her body, with stab wounds to the left side and abrasions to the forehead, was found near to the gate of her home. The police were summoned and the body removed to the morgue for post-mortem.
The Ewarton police, who are investigating, have since taken Comrie’s common-law husband, Junior Chisholm, 37, of Dee Side District in Linstead for questioning in connection with her death.
Cabinet maker on cocaine rap
CHRISTOPHER Lawrence, a 24 year-old cabinet maker, was arrested for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James Sunday.
Lawrence, who resides at Norwood in St James, has been charged with possession of, dealing in and taking steps to export cocaine.
The police reported yesterday that at about 9:00 am, Lawrence was about to board a flight destined to London. “His actions aroused the suspicion of security personnel that he had ingested a narcotic substance,” the Constabulary Communication Network said.
The police said that he was interviewed by narcotics agents and was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he passed out 59 pellets of cocaine, weighing just under a kilogram. He was subsequently charged.
