Brandon Hill resident found dead
Tyrone Kelly, a 22 year-old resident of Brandon Hill, St Andrew was Sunday found with multiple wounds in a gully in that community.
According to the police, at about 2:00 pm, Kelly and another man from the area were reportedly involved in a dispute. During the altercation, the man reportedly pulled a machete from his waistband and pursued Kelly into nearby bushes. Citizens reportedly launched a search after some time had passed, but the men were not seen.
Kelly’s body was reportedly later found in a gully with wounds to the head, abdomen and thigh. The body was removed to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
‘Bull’ murdered
The body of Albert Anderson, 33, otherwise called “Bull”, a vendor of Esher district, St Mary was found on the Esher main road Sunday night.
The police reported that at about 9:20 pm, a motorist reportedly made the discovery and alerted the police. On the arrival of the police the body was seen lying at the side of the road with the throat slashed. It was removed to the morgue for post- mortem examination.
Youth stabbed to death at Race Course
Carlos Angus, 20, of Mount Pleasant, Macka Tree was fatally stabbed at Race Course Lane, Macka Tree district, St Catherine Sunday night.
The police said that at about 8:45 pm, Angus was reportedly on his way home when a family member heard him cry for help. Upon investigation, his body was found lying on its back in the roadway with a stab wound to the chest. It was removed to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
The Brown’s Hall police who are investigating are seeking his brother, Marlon Angus, whom they believe can assist them in their investigations.
Fire destroys house in Gayle
Fire believed to be the work of arsonist(s) on Sunday destroyed a three-bedroom house at Spring Gardens, Gayle, St Mary, the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reported yesterday.
The CCN reported that at about 11:00 Sunday morning, residents reportedly saw a man running from the premises, shortly after fire was seen coming from a section of the house. The fire brigade was summoned and one unit from the Ocho Rios Fire Department extinguished the blaze. No one was injured.
Loss is estimated at $1.2 million, and according to the police, the house was not insured.
The Gayle police who are investigating have taken a man into custody for questioning in connection with the incident.
