‘Drug clean’ roadshow for May Pen
MAY PEN, Clarendon — The National Council on Drug Abuse (NCDA) is taking its “Drug Clean” message to May Pen with the staging of a road show.
It is scheduled for Thursday in the town centre, starting at 1:00 pm.
The NCDA said it has been expanding its approach in targeting out-of-school adolescents who it said are very vulnerable to drug abuse. It said, too, that the initiative also aims to enhance the resistance skills of low-level literacy children between the ages of five to 14 years old.

Youngsters participate in IT forum
SEAFORTH, St Thomas — About 100 young persons in St Thomas attended a forum on information communication technology on Saturday at the Seaforth High School in St Thomas.
Participants viewed exhibits and took part in discussions with persons from various government agencies in the parish.
Three workshops which focused on resumé writing, cover letters, interviewing skills, and the use of computers, were also held.
Minister of state in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Culture, Fitz Jackson, who declared the forum opened, told the participants that training and education were very important if they “are to seize the employment opportunities” which would come their way.
“The period of youth is, essentially, one of preparation to get where we want to go when that phase of youth expires,” Jackson said.
The state minister also told them that their ability to relate to each other was also “critical in the process of that preparation”.
