Dad accused of killing daughter after she filed incest complaint
MAY PEN, Clarendon — Eleven year-old Raquel Fisher of Sevens Heights, May Pen died Friday in the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH), after she was stabbed several times, allegedly by her father, Norris Noel Fisher, who she had accused of sexually molesting her.
According to Constable Shelly-Ann Sterling, the Constabulary Communication Network spokesperson for Clarendon, Norris Noel Fisher, who is an ex-soldier and warden, used an ice-prick to stab Raquel Fisher after she returned home from the police station where she had filed a complaint against him.
The May Pen police have since been searching for Norris Fisher, who they say is also known as Norris Mahoney. The police are asking anyone with information that can help them to locate him to call 986-2529, 119, or Crime Stop.
The girl’s mother, Jacqueline Fisher, said in the past she has had reason to suspect that her husband was molesting Raquel, but when she confronted him he denied it.
She said she reported one incident to her husband’s mother and brother who, she claimed, warned him.
She said Raquel and her sisters were taken from their home and left with a lady but her husband “bullied” the woman and took the children back.
According to Mrs Fisher, she was unable to help her daughter because she feared her husband who, she said, had warned her not to report the matter to the police.
Last Friday, Raquel’s classmates at the May Pen Primary School were obviously distraught at her death and their teacher, Mrs Henry, told the Observer that they were counselled by the school’s guidance counsellor.
“Raquel was a brilliant girl, one who did her work to the best of her ability,” the teacher said.
