Gordon Town man shot dead

Garfield Mothersil of Rodney Pen, Gordon Town, 29, died in the University Hospital Wednesday from wounds he received when he was shot by gunmen at the Savage Pen playing field in the community that same day.

The police said that at about 6:30 Wednesday evening, Mothersil was reportedly among a group of men at the playing field. A motorcar reportedly drove up and two men armed with handguns reportedly alighted from the vehicle and opened fire at the group.

Mothersil, who was hit, was taken to the University Hospital where he died about 8:45 pm.

…another in Allman Town

A man was shot and killed by gunmen at Hannah Street, Allman Town in Kingston Thursday night.

He has been identified as Desmond Gashaw, 27, otherwise called “Desi” of Goodwin Park Road, Kingston.

The police said that at about 9:00 pm, explosion were reportedly heard in the Hannah Street area and Gashaw’s body was found with gunshot wounds to the face later on. The body was removed to the morgue for post-mortem.
