ENTERTAINMENT OUT WEST
Trelawny comes alive
The usually quiet parish of Trelawny comes alive this weekend with a number of entertainment activities slated to be held across the parish.
These include the crowning of Miss Bounty Hall 2001 that will be held at Club Xclusive in Bounty Hall tonight.
Seven girls from the community will vie for the crown at a ceremony that begins at 8:00 pm.
Action Force disco will provide the music while Lt. Elmo, Flex Crew, Champagne and the Nightmare Crew will add flavour to the night’s entertainment package.
And tonight also, IRIE-FM radio’s Bob Clarke will be the special guest selector at Palmer’s Lawn, Salt Marsh. The show, dubbed “Memories by the Score” will feature Trelawny’s number one sound, Scorpio disco.
Part proceeds will go towards the improvement of the sanitary facilities at the Salt Marsh All Age School.
Then at the nearby Glistening Waters resorts in Falmouth, Colin Hines of Fame FM will headline a big soca party starting at 9:00 pm.
But that’s not all. Come tomorrow the Burwood Beach, located next door to the Trelawny Beach Hotel and Fun Resort will have a grand fun day and stage show.
Attractions include six a side football, deejay contests, netball, volleyball, wet T shirt and bun eating contests.
Two big sounds, Sly Slick and Wicked and Kangol, will provide the music.
