Two Americans to answer drug charges Monday
WESTERN BUREAU: Two Americans are scheduled to appear in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court Monday to answer charges of breaches to the Dangerous Drugs Act.
They are 33-year-old Jessica Williams, and 34-year-old Charles Perreira.
The court was told that at about 12:30 pm, Thursday, Williams was booked on an American Airlines flight, destined for Miami, when she was caught with 20 pounds of ganja.
While passing through the security check-point, her luggage was searched, and the drug reportedly found.
She was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of, dealing in and attempting to export the drug.
Later, at about 6:15 pm, Perreira, booked on an American Airlines flight destined for Miami, was caught with 11 pounds of ganja.
He, too, was reportedly caught with the drug while passing through the security check-point, after his luggage was searched.
He was later arrested and charged with possession of, dealing in and attempting to export the drug.
