TOURNAMENT umpire Jordache Deuce, one of the most knowledgeable analysts of junior tennis, offers interesting analysis of today's semi-final matches of the Pan Caribbean Bank All Jamaica Junior Tennis Championships at the Eric Bell Centre.
"We should have a very interesting day tomorrow (today) in all singles categories which are now at the semi-finals. In the Girls 18 it has always been a ding-dong battle between battle Shantal Blackwood and Sicquena Sinclair. Between Neah Rose and Simone Vranov-Brown, I believe Brown should come out on top based on her experience and her quick movement across the court and she should be able to handle any pressure that Rose brings to her," he said.
In the Boys 16, Deuce said: "For the semi-final between Oshane Trail and Joseph Ross, it's always a very long match between the two and more times than not Ross will come out on top; however, Trail is playing his best tennis of his life and might be able to spring a surprise.
"It's hard to predict who will win the quarter-final between Sheldon McIntosh and Alex Anderson, but McIntosh is tipped to win that match and it would be a very interesting match-up between himself and Levy, if he gets to the semi-final," Deuce added.
He described as a "grudge match" play between Lauren Vranov-Brown and Sicquena Sinclair in the Girls 16 semi-final, especially when Lauren knocked out the local girls for a place on the Fed Cup team.
