Relegated August Town came back from a lacklustre first half to score a 4-3 victory over visitors Village United in their National Premier League encounter at the UWI Bowl yesterday.
The Trelawny-based Village opened the scoring in the 20th minute after Devron Clarke took advantage of a foul-up, then slipping one past the August Town goal keeper.
Clarke put the visitors 2-0 up 15 minutes later before August Town registered their first strike surprising Village's goalkeeper in the 40th minute.
Second-half substitute Andre Madison equalled the score for August Town in the 60th minute before Village went ahead once again thanks to Ricardo Reid in the 83rd.
With two minutes remaining on the clock, Super League-bound August Town ensured they would go out in style as Devon Haughton landed two goals within a minute of each other to register the victory.
Spectator benches and the plastic covering over the players benches were removed from the field.
August Town seemed to find new life in the second half which was demonstrated with the quick goals which gave the spattering of fans something to cheer about.
In two other games yesterday, St George's defeated Reno 1-0 at Lynch Park courtesy of a Denroy Denny's 33rd minute goal, while it was 1-1 between Harbour View and Aporting Central Academy at Brancourt.
