Thieves break into residence of police chief
CMC
Thursday, August 07, 2008

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, (CMC) - Police officers in Trinidad are carrying out investigations to determine who broke into the official residence of the police commissioner over the weekend.

The crime has been seen as very brazen, given the fact that the official residence is situated at the St James Barracks which is the training ground for police recruits. It is still occupied by retired police commissioner Trevor Paul, but he has been out of the country since July 4. There is also a police post at the entrance of the house.

One newspaper yesterday quoted investigators as describing the culprits as "bold face".

Media reports said that the thieves took away two bottles of whiskey and a computer bag.
