THE normally quiet Farewell Avenue community off Molynes Road in St Andrew was yesterday gripped in horror following the discovery of the bullet-riddled body of a man in an abandoned car in the community.
The dead man, who police believed was in his late twenties, was wrapped in a rug bound by a piece of electrical wire and stuffed in the trunk of a grey Honda Accord, registered 3011EP. He was not identified by the police yesterday afternoon.

He was clad in a white merino, black jeans pants and a pair of black Nike sneakers. He also had a tattoo on the left side of his chest with the words 'I love you Althea.' Police say the body had gunshot wounds to the left side of the face and the neck. The man's chin was bashed in while some of his teeth were also knocked out.
According to Detective Winston Henderson from the Constant Spring Police Station, the cops were summoned after residents became suspicious of the car.
"We were alerted by the residents who said that the car has been here since yesterday (Monday). At the moment we cannot say who the man is or if he is the owner of the car," said Henderson.
One female resident said that the car was parked at the location shortly after 11:00 am on Monday.
"A from yesterday we see the car there and we watching it 'cause it never park at nobody's gate," the woman explained after removing the handkerchief used to cover her nose from the rising odour.
"We couldn't really smell nothing cause the trunk did close but when we go look closer, we see some blood stains on the outside of the car. That is when we really call the police," she added.
As scene-of-crime officers processed the body, a crowd of mostly elderly residents gathered in yards near the scene in an effort to get a peep at the body.
With wrinkled brows, the residents looked in horror as scene-of-crime officers removed the blood stained merino from the corpse.
"A one young boy that, him don't even look like him reach 20 good yet," one elderly man commented as he peered behind a crown of onlookers who had gathered in his yard.
