Headless body found in Kingston gully

Thursday, February 21, 2008

THE police last night identified the headless male corpse found in a gully along Lincoln Road in Kingston earlier in the day as that of Kevin Galve, a resident of St Josephs Road in the city.

Shortly after the gruesome find, a man told the police that the body was that of his brother, Kevin, who had left his home at Waltham Park Road on Tuesday night to purchase cigarettes and had not returned.

The man said he identified his brother by a ring on his finger and the pair of shorts he was clad in. The man also claimed that his brother left home without a shirt on Tuesday.

He said his brother worked at the Kingston Wharves and told police on the scene that he knew his brother's killers.

According to an officer from the St Andrew Central Criminal Investigation Bureau, a passer-by saw a body in the gully and summoned the police. The body was shirtless and dressed in a brown shorts.

The sight of the headless body caused squeamish reactions from some of the onlookers who had gathered at the scene. "It look like when you kill a fowl," one woman said as she held her belly.
