Man shot, injured in attempted robbery

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

A man was yesterday shot and injured when a gunman attempted to rob him of his motorcycle at his home on Annette Crescent, located off Waterloo Road in Kingston.

According to the man's mother, who identified herself as Mrs Pearson, the incident took place shortly after 3:00 pm while she was inside her house.

"I was inside and I looked outside and saw the gate open. I came back inside and then I hear a loud bow! When I was about to go outside I saw my son run inside and say 'Mummy me get shot'," she told the Observer yesterday.

She said her 33-year-old son was shot on the left side of his torso and that the bullet appeared to have exited his body.
The motorcycle which was the target of the robbery was not taken.
