Saturday, January 26, 2008

MONTEGO BAY, St James - The St James police were up to last night unable to establish a motive for the death of 22-year-old security guard, Ricardo Brown, who was chased and shot dead by gunmen Thursday night in Catherine Hall, Montego Bay.

According to Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) liaison officer for the parish, Peter Salkey, about 10:30 pm residents of Catherine Hall heard explosions and saw Brown being chased by a group of men along the main road.
He was reportedly held by the men who shot him several times.

He was later taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident increased to 10, the number of murders reported in St James this year.
Last year 188 persons were murdered in the parish.
