FLORENCE HALL, Trelawny - Dance Hall deejay Jigsy King was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and using indecent language shortly after his set early yesterday at the Curefest stage show at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium.

He is scheduled to appear in the Falmouth Resident Magistrate's Court tomorrow to answer to the charges.
The deejay, whose real name is Errol King, was apprehended by the Falmouth police at about 4:15 am and was whisked off to the station in a police car shortly after his eight-minute set which was laced with expletives.

The deejay also used his time on stage to deliver a scathing verbal attack on the Queen of England and members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

No sentence he uttered was free from profanity as he spewed verbal venom.

"Mi nuh fraid a police, police can't do mi nutten," King said, as he continued his blistering attack.

But immediately after he performed and attempted to leave the backstage area, he was approached by several policemen dressed in blue denim.

There, he was severely reprimanded by the lawmen for what they described as his "disrespectful behaviour" on stage.
"You are an experienced deejay; you are not a young deejay and should know better," the lawmen told King, before he was carted off to the station.

King scored many big hits during the 1990s with labels like Roof International and Techniques.

His biggest hits being Butterfly; Rail Up; Haffi Get You Body, Gal A Fuss Gal A Fight; Real Ting, in combination with singer Tony Curtis; Question Ask, in collaboration with Freddie McGregor. and the Billboard hit single Every Posse Mus Work, featuring Barrington Levy. He has also appeared alongside Merciless, Bounty Killa and Lady Saw.
