Trial of Devon House murder accused starts Nov 9

Tuesday, September 25, 2007

GARFIELD Grant, the man accused of the 2004 stabbing death of a teenage girl at Devon House - a popular Kingston hangout spot - is scheduled to face trial November 9.

The trial date was set when Grant appeared in the Home Circuit Court yesterday. In the meantime, the accused man had his bail extended until the murder case comes up for trial.

Allegations are that on December 27, 2004, Natoya Robinson went to Devon House to meet with a female friend, who was said to be the girlfriend of the accused.

While Robinson was sitting in the girl's lap Grant appeared and allegedly dragged Robinson from the woman's lap. A fight allegedly ensued and a knife was used to slash Robinson's throat.

Grant was that same month arrested and pointed out on an identification parade. He was then charged with murder.
