HAROLD Berbick, nephew of former world boxing champion Trevor Berbick, and Kenton Gordon, were yesterday granted bail in the sum of $1 million each when they appeared in the Buff Bay Resident Magistrate's Court.

Berbick and Gordon, who were charged with the October 2006 murder of the former heavyweight boxing champion, have beeen in custody for four months.

As part of their bail condition, Berbick and Gordon, must report to the Port Antonio police station twice each day, and surrender their travel documents to the police.

The two accused are set to return to court on April 10 this year.

During a previous court appearance, Harold Berbick was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Trevor Berbick was found dead in a churchyard near his home in the district of Norwich, just outside Port Antonio. His body had what appeared to be multiple chop wounds to the head. His nephew and Gordon were arrested days after the incident.

Trevor Berbick was the first Jamaican boxer to hold the world heavyweight title and the last boxer to fight the legendary, Mohammed Ali.
