Friday, January 26, 2007

A man who allegedly stabbed another man to death over a bag of toiletries, is facing a murder charge in the Half-Way-Tree Resident Magistrate's Court.

Frank Richards, also known as "Phillip" is scheduled to return to court on January 31 to answer to the charge.

According to court documents, at approximately 11:30 am on December 22, 2006, Richards and Peter Meyers were arguing over a plastic bag containing toiletries at a bar along Georges Lane in Kingston. Meyers reportedly had the bag in his possession.

It is alleged that during the argument, Richards used a 12-inch kitchen knife to stab Meyers in the left side of his body.
Meyers succumbed to his injuries.

Richards was picked up by the police on January 21 and was subsequently arrested and charged for murder.
