SPANISH TOWN, St Catherine - The murder case against two brothers charged with killing police constable Richard Taylor of the Special Anti Crime Task Force (SACTF) last month, has been transferred to the Gun Court in Kingston.

The case is scheduled to come up for mention on Wednesday, October 18.

Charged with murder and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition are Andrea Bent, 20, and Sheldon Bent, 23, both of Point Hill, St Catherine.

Constable Taylor went missing on September 2. One week later, his body was found in a pond at the Worthy Park Estate near Ewarton. The body had gun shot wounds, the throat was cut and a car engine tied around the waist.

Sheldon was later picked up in St Mary, while the police arrested Andrea at Point Hill. Police said they seized two firearms from the men. One was found in the accused men's house and the other buried in the yard.

Sheldon, who is also facing a charge of carnal abuse, is to return to the Spanish Town Criminal Count on Thursday, October 26.
