Cops seeking two suspects in murder of bus conductor
Observer Reporter
Tuesday, October 10, 2006

HOMICIDE detectives in the St Andrew South Police Division were yesterday trying to find two suspects in the murder of 18-year-old bus conductor Craig Gregory, who was killed after he attempted to stop a fight between schoolgirls last Friday.

The police gave the aliases of the suspects as 'Oniel', otherwise called 'Boy Blue', and 'Gregory', both of Caladium Crescent in Tower Hill, in connection with the conductor's death.

Craig Gregory met his demise after he intervened in a clash between the schoolgirls on a number 82 bus last Friday. The police reported that one of the girls left the bus and complained to her 18-year-old aunt about the incident. It is alleged that both teenagers then sought assistance from two men in the community.

Both men are suspected of ambushing the bus and dragging Gregory to a premises near to the Olympic Gardens Police Station and shot him several times. Gregory died in hospital.

The police have since arrested the student and her aunt in connection with the murder. Head of operations at the St Andrew South Police Division, Deputy Superintendent Oswald Eyre, said the girls would soon be taken before the court.

"These girls will be charged with conspiracy to murder. We believe they played an integral part in the killing of the conductor," DSP Eyre told the Observer yesterday.
