DPP to rule on Farm Town killing
Observer Reporter
Wednesday, February 15, 2006

OCHO RIOS, St Ann - Statements surrounding the killing of Ryan Whitehorn of Farm Town in the parish are today to be submitted by the St Ann police to the Director of Public Prosecution.

The release of a businessman, who was questioned in connection with the killing of Whitehorn, sparked demonstrations in Farm Town. The protests turned violent Monday, burning two cars, businesses and the home of the businessman.

"We are preparing statements for us to have a meeting with the Director of Public Prosecution tomorrow (today) to ask him to look at them and to advise us," Kelso Small, deputy superintendent of police in charge of crime for St Ann, told the Observer yesterday.

DSP Small said investigations were continuing in the killing of Whitehorn, as well as Monday's fires which destroyed the property of the businessman.
