Look out for bogus US$100 notes, police warn

THE police have advised business owners in the downtown Kingston commercial district to be on the look-out for persons who tender counterfeit US dollar notes for purchases.

The advisory comes following the arrest of a man who the police said was caught with 10 US$100 counterfeit notes in his possession this week.

The police gave the man's name as Anstie Gidden, 25, of Molynes Road, Kingston 19.

According to the police, at about 4:45 pm Gidden tendered a US$100.00 note to a business establishment.

"It was subsequently established to be counterfeit and the police were summoned. He was searched and found in possession of nine additional one hundred dollar notes," the Constabulary Communication Network said.

Police gave the serial number as:

. DD13882151B;
. LF83851151G;
. DB31882115C.
. DB83812115C; and
. DD15882151D

The accused is to appear in the Corporate Area Criminal Court on Monday.
