A police constable was yesterday stabbed and injured on the compound of the Kingston Public Hospital, allegedly by a security guard, following an argument over parking.
The security guard, Ricardo Anderson, 29, who is employed to the Environmental Security Guard Company, has since been arrested and charged with felonious wounding.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) said that at about 8:15 am, the constable drove onto the hospital's compound and parked in a no-parking zone.
The security guard on duty, said the CCN, instructed the policeman to park elsewhere when a heated argument developed between the two. A knife was used to stab the constable, who was last night said to be in serious condition in hospital. The injured policeman is assigned to the Bull Bay Police Station.
