Part of missing airplane found
Observer Reporter
Thursday, April 07, 2005

A wheel and a cushion, believed to be from the missing single engine Cessna airplane that went missing over St Mary on Monday, were found yesterday near the shoreline at Robins Bay in close proximity to where divers reported seeing an oil slick.

As a result, the search for the missing plane and its pilot, Captain Keith Hammond, was extended and intensified along the coastline.

A police spokesman told the Observer that the wheel and the cushion, which appeared to be part of a seat, were found at around 8:00 in the morning by a fisherman and turned over to the police.
