Mexico detains pig beheading gangsters
MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican federal police say they have captured five members of a kidnapping and extortion ring that operated in the Mexico City region and was known for leaving the heads of pigs outside homes and businesses as a warning.
A police statement yesterday said that the ‘Pig’s Heads’ gang was toppled thanks to information gleaned from a gang member who was arrested in February.
Police arrested the other five members Friday, including gang leader Eduardo Sanchez Zuniga, nicknamed ‘El Bla Bla.’
Police say the group is linked to the abduction last August of a Mexico City business woman and with extortion demands on textile companies that were threatened with the pig head warnings outside their doors.
