JUTC invites scrap metal dealers to bid for derelict buses
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) has invited scrap metal dealers and other interested parties to bid for and purchase either all or any part of its 60 derelict buses.
The State-owned bus company, which up to the beginning of May 2015 had an operational fleet of 569 units, said in the press that bids must be submitted by Wednesday, September 30.
“The successful bidder(s) will be required to remove the buses from their present storage area within a specified time at no cost to the JUTC,” the advertisement read.
The bus company also said that interested parties must be registered scrap metal dealers and must be in possession of a valid Tax Compliance Certificate and a tax registration number.
A site visit is schduled for Tuesday, September 15 at 10:00am at the Rockfort Depot.
