Counterfeit notes in circulation in St Mary

ST MARY, Jamaica – The St Mary police are advising persons to be on the lookout for the circulation of counterfeit notes in the parish.

Reports from the Oracabessa police are that several businesses in the Oracabessa area have been the target of culprits in recent weeks, issuing counterfeit J$500 and J$1000 notes to unsuspecting business operators. The counterfeit notes carry the following serial numbers:

$1000 1 AU2726522 Xs5202913 VS3870844 VS9388555 WN7325076 AA2541167 AJ0611628 YC5750999 VW60388310 YS360903$500 1 XF1447142 YF3782893 XX280527Persons are being asked by the police to come forward with information that can lead to the apprehension of these culprits or contact the Fraud Squad at 948-5906, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
