BoUik is a fashion company and a creativity lifestyle label conceptualised in 2006 by a 22-year-old entrepreneur and philanthropist Toni Thorne from Barbados.
Already gracing the stage at the popular Caribbean Fashion Week and being featured in popular regional and international publications, the BoUiK team saw the need to give back to a needy cause.

Under the theme 'Combining youth and creativity to do its part to heal the world', Thorne and her team chose a Jamaican charity to benefit from her first major philanthropic deed.
Martha's Home, a subsidiary of the Mustard Seed Communities, is a private home for approximately 30 abandoned or orphaned children who are suffering from or are affected by HIV. The home is the only one of its kind in the Caribbean, and unfortunately most of it was destroyed by fire earlier this year.
Acknowledging that social responsibility is a vital aspect of modern business, designer Thorne decided to launch a non-profit initiative to benefit the children of Martha's Home. The Martha's Smile Initiative is a dance and music programme for the children that will be provided free of cost for a year, starting in January.
On October 25th, the team launched the Martha's Smile Initiative with a fashion show at the Jamaica Pegasus.
Sponsored by TOYBOX Charities, the Child Development Agency and Cooyah to name a few, the event featured articles of clothing from designers around the Caribbean that were hand-painted by the children of Martha's Home.
The event featured performances by Ashé and Daniel 'Chino' McGregor who sang as the models unveiled the one-of-a-kind pieces accompanied by dramatic make-up and accessories. Hosted by the former Minister of Tourism Aloun Assamba, the formalities were brief, allowing guests the time to make their silent bids for the various articles of clothing.
