With an honours degree in Management and Psychology, and also the right combination of beauty and talent, why would this lady be interested in music in Jamaica?
But songstress Alaine Laughton stopped by TEENage to fill us in on why she chose music and her recent activities.

Few TEENs now will remember her as the little girl who was in Victoria Mutual Building Society commercial - she reprised the role last year - but now all grown up, Alaine is still as vibrant and bubbly as she was at eight.
The investment-banker-turned-singer, loved music from a very tender age, and began playing the piano vey early; this fed her natural passion for music.
At age nine Alaine was a Red Cross Ambassador; she also played numerous roles in Jamaican television programmes.
In 2005, Alaine burst on the scene with her single No Ordinary Love on Don Corleon's Seasons Riddim, which was her breakout single. She followed up with hits such as Deeper, Sacrifice and Wine that further propelled her to stardom both 'yaad' and abroad.
Sitting down with a clearly outspoken Alaine, she describes her music as a mixture of dancehall, reggae, R&B and hip hop, then she started to fill us in on her recent tour of Japan.
Alaine's Japan-released album, Luv A Dub, made massive strides in album sales, pushing her career to a new level. She describes the Japan experience as an exhilarating time in her life.
TEENage also learnt from Alaine that her most memorable moment on tour was walking in to a store and seeing a life-size cut-out of herself beside the late Michael Jackson. This warmed her heart she said and also showed that her music is being recognised and is reaching new levels.
Although separated from then producer Don Corleon, Alaine's music continues to thrive with her latest hit Love, Loud and Clear on the Relationships Riddim. She also has future songs in the pipeline ready to be distributed.
When asked what advice she would give to TEENS, she whole-heartedly said that you should do what you love.
