Special treat for children's homes at Garfield's Christmas Wonderland

Saturday, November 07, 2009

In an effort to make Garfield's Christmas Wonderland a truly special event, Electro Tech Productions with the assistance of TVJ, ScotiaBank, KFC/Pizza Hut and Jamaica Beverages, and all other associate sponsors, have pledged to give kids from children's home an exclusive and unforgettable treat.

"Everything for these children will be free, from meals from KFC to rides, meet and greet Santa, giveaways, drinks by Tru Juice and Jamaica Bevarges and more. This will be our Christmas treat to them," said Peter Shoucair event promoter.

The event takes place on the lawns of Hope Gardens from December 18 - 20 and will feature a wide range of entertainment for the entire family.

The treat for the kids will be co-ordinated by the Child Development Agency.

According to Shoucair, he could have easily made donations to the various homes but it would not mean the same thing to the kids as having a day when they are totally catered to.

"This is our way of giving them a better Christmas," the Electro Tech boss shared.

Milestone Productions, agents for the characters, were so impressed by the move to give these children a day for themselves that they too are willing to make a donation through Milestone Ministries.

"They are willing to look into helping to have more children than we were anticipating. This will be the largest joint corporate venture that has ever been done for any children's home in Jamaica," Shoucair pointed out.

Meanwhile, the call is out for patrons to make use of the limited pre-sold tickets that are available at the following outlets Copy Cat, Training Camp, Coco Jam, Young's Pharmacy, May Pen, Mailbox MoBay, Broadway Surprise, Clock Tower Plaza, Rainbow Land and in some schools.

They are also encouraged to book their spaces early for the Garfield Live show as there will be limited seating available.

Some schools have already started getting a taste of what to expect as Garfield is now in Jamaica and has started visiting select schools. Step By Step was one such school that had a special visit from Garfield character along with Coco, Chicky and Chubby.

Garfield's Christmas Wonderland is sponsored by TVJ, KFC and Pizza Hut, Scotiabank, New Line Motors, Jamaica Beverages, ATL, Jamaica Observer, JIIC, Marksman, King Alarm, Shakti, Jamaica Pegasus, Oasis, New Line, Tru Juice, Breezes, Trident, Guardsman Group, Sun Island among others and is endorsed by the Jamaica Tourist Board, the Ministry of Education and the Child Development Agency.
