...a great alternative if you are renting, on a short-term lease, are creatively challenged or just can't find the perfect set, because these curtains allow you to have beautiful window treatments of your own choosing without the hassle of sewing. Simply drape some fabric, tie or clip to the rods and rings and you have beautiful window treatments in minutes.

Valance 1 requires a coiled holdback called a valance creator and to create it you simply wind the fabric through the coils and you're done.

There are so many great ideas for valances and drapes; I am going to break this up into two parts, this week we will cover valances, quick no-sew window headings and next week we will do curtains.
For this project you will:

. Choose the valance you like. I have made a few recommendations.

. Choose the fabric you like.

. Measure the width of the window/doors you wish to dress up to determine how much fabric you will need. The staff at most fabric stores can then help you with that.

. Buy necessary hardware like rods, rings, clips, etc.

. And top off your window.

These are fast and easy to do, so give your favourite one a try. Just have fun and good luck.
