Kudos for Observer initiatives
Thursday, November 05, 2009
Dear Editor,
I want to take this opportunity to commend the Jamaica Observer on its continuous innovation to encourage commerce in general, and entrepreneurship in particular. Your initiatives starting with the Business Leader Awards, continuing with your Food Awards programme and most recently, your Fashion's Night Out provide invaluable support to businesses in terms of recognition and revenues, both on the corporate and individual levels.
To quote from a recent article by Dr Basil Springer, "How do we achieve economic growth? This time there is a simple answer which is common to all countries, one successful enterprise after another. Whether we are dealing with existing enterprises, emerging enterprises or ideas which have the potential to be converted into enterprises, the answer is the same. Economic growth can only be achieved one successful enterprise after another. This has to be the national focus."
Especially at this time, I must commend your chairman, Mr Gordon Butch Stewart, for infusing the organisation with this culture of innovation and support for enterprise. This has been wonderfully embraced by your Mrs Novia McDonald-Whyte and the rest of the Observer team for a positive impact on the socio-economic life of Jamaica.
Congratulations on the tremendous success of "Fashion's Night Out".
