Mark school supplies

Monday, May 12, 2008

Dear Editor,

I refer to the story in the Observer of April 24, "Bring back our computers! First Hill All-Age bemoans robbery."
Mark school property so that stolen items cannot be sold or would be an embarrassment to new owners.

Theft of school supplies is seldom reported and is too frequent. When thefts occurred in Negril and I inquired why no one reported them, someone said it was local residents who would buy the ill-gotten booty. True or not, permanently marking supplies makes them less desirable.
