Remind children they are children
Dear Editor,Gregory Williams
In the Bible, Job in his affliction (Chapter 30) complained about the youth of his generation. In his protest he saw them rising up in the ways of their destruction.
The Shepherd’s rod is a rod of correction and not abuse. It is a known fact that the majority of stable Christians appropriated their faith in their youth. I am not going to take a nominal approach to the violence against and by our youth. I will simply posit that we need to remind them that they are still children. They have not yet come into the rights of adulthood.
It is difficult to convince children that are having children. However God’s grace extends to those that have a contrite heart. There is still hope for our children. They are not to blame but must learn to take responsibility for their thoughts, words and actions.
Despite the disorder they are exposed to in our society they make good Christians. The Good Shepherd did say of such is the Kingdom. Parents, I implore you guide your children with the words of Jesus. Even if you find it difficult, let them know the boundaries that will keep them safe.
