Reggae Money Express rebrands to JMMB Money Transfer
JAMAICA Money Market Brokers (JMMB) is looking to expand its remittance service into Trinidad and Tobago and Dominican Republic following the rebranding of the Groupowned Reggae Money Express to JMMB Money Transfer. Reggae Money Express, which operated under the registered name Capital & Credit Remittances Limited, was acquired by JMMB in 2012, as a part of the Capital and Credit Financial Group.
JMMB stated that the rebranding will allow its remittance arm – JMMB Money Transfer – to better leverage the brand equity of the Group, as it moves to closely align with its parent company, JMMB, which currently operates in Trinidad &Tobago and the Dominican Republic markets. The initiative is also expected to re-introduce outbound transfers to selected Jamaican communities in the diaspora.
“This expansion in new markets for the remittance arm will be done in partnership with its current remittance partner,” general manager Sharon Gibson stated in a release from the company; including XOOM, World Remit, RIA, Omni, Money Transfer, Union Caribe, Trans Fast, Small World and Sigue.
She added that the rebranding is in keeping with the company’s strategic direction of becoming an integrated financial service provider, catering to various financial goals and the needs of the clients. In March, JMMB signed an agreement with Paymaster which will see 20 new agents being added to its network of agents islandwide.
The company has also entered into agreements with other sub-agents, which is expected to allow money transfer services at more than 100 locations. “JMMB Money Transfer will become synonymous with convenience, competitive rates and even faster delivery of money to our clients, backed by exceptional client experience,” Gibson stated.
JMMB Money Transfer allows individuals to send money to Jamaica, through its international partners, from over 80 countries worldwide including Europe, the Bahamas, UK, USA, Canada, Curacao, St. Maarten and Aruba.
The remittance service allows persons to send money online, to Jamaica, through its partners Xoom and World Remit; while also providing a deposit-toaccount service where individuals can receive money in any account, at any financial institution in Jamaica. “By year end we will provide intra-island transfers in record time.
Transfers will be received in just seconds not minutes, so that clients can access their money when they need it,” Gibson stated.
