DIGICEL to inform successful VSP applicants on Friday
TELECOMMUNICATIONS Company DIGICEL will inform successful applicants of its Voluntary Separation Programme (VSP) on Friday.
The company is now “reviewing and evaluating all of the applications”, Head of Group Public Relations, Antonia Graham, told the Jamaica Observer.
However, Graham did not say how many people had applied to the programme or the company’s expectations about the likely payout to the approved applicants.
The telecommunications giant re-opened the programme to allow the company to “focus on driving efficiencies coupled with delivering optimum business performance, the need to realign the organisation following the integration of the Claro customer base and operations and requests from staff,” it said in a news release.
Digicel said it wants to have “the right people with the right skills in the right jobs” and gave employees “who may be considering a career change or lifestyle change to leave the company voluntarily while receiving additional financial support and benefits,” the release said.
The application period closed last Thursday, April 26.
