Men narrowly escape serious injuries after car caught fire
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – Two men narrowly escaped serious injuries and possible death after a motor car they were travelling in caught fire at Porter Gate in Westmoreland on Saturday afternoon.
The incident happened shortly after 12 noon.
Observer Online understands that the driver of the Toyota Corolla heard an unusual sound and pulled over.
“I heard puff, and when I looked I saw fire coming from the bottom of the vehicle and the occupants banked the car. Mi tell dem jump out, jump out,” a man who claimed to witness the event told the Observer Online.
He said the driver however, managed to retrieve a music console from the burning vehicle.
One unit from the Savanna-la-Mar Fire Station responded to the fire, and put out the blaze. The men escaped unhurt.
