Investigation launched into fire at JUTC Spanish Town depot
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Transport Minister Daryl Vaz has confirmed that at least one bus was damaged by a fire at the Jamaica Urban Transit Company’s (JUTC) Spanish Town depot.
Vaz stated that an active investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the blaze.
“There is an investigation by the fire brigade and the police. I have my own suspicions, but I will wait for the police and the fire brigade to provide an official report before making further comments,” he said, noting that safety and security measures will be outlined depending on the findings of the investigations.
“I will comment more on the outcome of the investigation and the plan to implement better security measures in relation to certain activities that are plaguing the JUTC,” he continued.
